Reading List

The earliest part of my awakening was facilitated by American Christianity and was shaped by the King James Bible, The Book of Mormon (along with related scripture), and the New England commonsense of good parents.

As I branched out from Christianity, much of my learning came from books. I studied for almost fifteen years before I found the first person I would relate to as "my teacher." I want to give credit to the authors, teachers, masters, and meditators who helped start me on my path. Without their straightforward, insightful, and often amusing writings, I don't know how long it would have taken me to walk towards the stream.

To that end, I created this reading list, which I will add to as more works enter my life. The list of readings is organized into rough topics, but many of them overlap quite a bit. Within each topic they are alphabetized, so please don't take the order to be a subconscious recommendation. Some of my blog posts will be book/author reviews. Once I have a review post for a book, I'll link it on this page.

If you have any reading suggestions, please put them in a comment.
