About Me

My name is Amanda Lotz. By day, I'm a wife, mom, and school teacher in New Hampshire. By night, I'm still those things, but I also get to indulge in spiritual seeking and other practices that help me find balance.

I discovered mindfulness and meditation through my work with students who experienced trauma. As I learned different strategies to help them, I realized I was being helped, too. This opened the door to my journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening.

My spiritual background starts early with some traditional Christian flavors like Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian followed by a sixteen-year exploration into less traditional LDS. My husband catalyzed my lazy study and practice of Buddhism, both Zen and Hindi. I added several schools of reiki and energy healing to my toolbelt over the the course of ten years. I also trained in a couple schools of meditation instruction. In the past three years, I delved into divination using runes, tarot, and oracles. The most recent additions to my spiritual practices include crystals, ritual work, and light shamanism.

When asked what I "am," I tend to shrug and give the easiest answer for the context of the conversation. Really, what I am is curious. I love learning about people, cultures, traditions, and ideas from all over the world. Ultimately I believe that there is a wonderful guiding source in this existence and that source shows itself to different people in different ways depending on how they will best respond to it. A person's response could be based on life experiences, culture, upbringing, gender, sexuality, or education. Whatever someone needs to connect with in order to find a deeper meaning in life, that is what they can, and hopefully will, access in this life. Everything else is just fluff.
